Black Heritage Tour (BHT) Golf Challenge, Inc. pledge ourselves to the mission and vision statement by adhering to our core values—Integrity, Commitment, Excellence, Responsibility, Self-Respect, Trust and Service.  Our core values which are the building blocks for our programs such as the golf clinics and camps, supports what we believe in as we grow the game of golf, develop quality partnerships on a daily basis to offer scholarships and lastly commit to the relentless pursuit of developing a world-class junior golf tour that would be inclusive of the underserved.

Integrity

Black Heritage Tour (BHT) Golf Challenge, Inc. believes that one of the most important principle of leadership depends on “integrity” because it demands truthfulness and honesty.  Black Heritage Tour (BHT) Golf Challenge, Inc. accepts that “integrity” which is the foundation upon trust is built, means for all—the organization, children, junior players and parents must exhibit the quality of being honest and having strong moral principles.  Black Heritage Tour (BHT) Golf Challenge, Inc.’s Golf Clinics and Camps utilizes “integrity” as our first building block that is included in every facet of our programming from what we say to what we do.

Commitment

Black Heritage Tour (BHT) Golf Challenge, Inc. is committed to the determination and dedication of growing the game of golf for underserve youth.  We are also committed to operating a professional and successful junior golf program.  In order to achieve this success, we place our youth and families at the center of everything we do.  “Commitment” is the core value that helps us establish the discipline within the organization whereby each staff person is fully committed to consistently delivering on the program’s expectations.  This standard of commitment is also instilled in our youth to be emulated in their personal life, studies and golf game.  

Excellence

Black Heritage Tour (BHT) Golf Challenge, Inc. thrives on thinking of unique concepts to offer our youth and families’ exposure to HBCUs for scholarship opportunities.  Our core value “excellence” is driven by always trying to improve. We are committed to improving junior golf and the experience for children. We will be vigilant about finding the right way to educate and develop junior golfers on the course and in life.  We have an unrelenting determination to improve ourselves and our service, cultivating the appropriate knowledge, skills, and attitudes to achieve a standard of excellence in every endeavor we pursue.  

‍Self-Respect

Black Heritage Tour (BHT) Golf Challenge, Inc. takes great pride in our dedication to respect both the youth and their families.  Black Heritage Tour (BHT) Golf Challenge, Inc. will teach that each person must have pride and confidence in themselves and that those feelings should cause them to behave with honor and dignity not only on the golf course but also in life. Our core value “self-respect” will enable our youth to have a healthy confidence level to set firm boundaries, know what they stand for and what their values are while discovering their ability to accept both their strengths and weaknesses.

Trust

Black Heritage Tour (BHT) Golf Challenge, Inc. utilizes a holistic approach to golf, from teaching young boys and girls the basics to developing junior golfers whereby they learn to become student-athletes and lifelong lovers of the game.  Therefore, it is important for the youth who participate to trust themselves and the process that is used for their growth and development.  Our core value “trust” which focuses on the underserved junior golfers at the grassroots level across the Mid-Atlantic is taught to our youth to have a firm belief in the reality of who they are, the truth about their history, and their ability and strength to grow in life and the game of golf.

Responsibility

Black Heritage Tour (BHT) Golf Challenge, Inc.’s strategy is to be responsible for hosting golf challenges and special golf fundraising events which are a tremendous resource for donations to support the Black Heritage Junior Golf Tour.  Moreover, while fundraising will be critical for the Junior Tour, we are also responsible for making good use of our time focusing on all areas of the junior golfer's game at our clinics and camps, from driving, chipping and putting, to course etiquette and club categorization such as wedges, irons and drivers.  Our core value “responsibility” which means that the organization teaches that we and the junior golfers are accountable to one another and both have a duty in life and on the golf course to be in control of our actions and accept that “responsibility”.

Service

Black Heritage Tour (BHT) Golf Challenge, Inc. will teach that “service” to others means being unselfish and doing something of importance for someone that is greater than ourselves.  Black Heritage Tour (BHT) Golf Challenge, Inc. will further teach junior golfers to help out and serve others where others’ needs such as support for fundraising for the community’s unmet needs.  Our core value “service” means that Black Heritage Tour (BHT) Golf Challenge, Inc. teaches that each person must be prepared for the opportunity to make decisions to put other’s needs before their own.
